Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has continued with his move to consolidate support for his bid in the contest for the Nairobi County chairmanship in the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ahead of the party elections scheduled to take place on Friday June 7, 2024.
Sakaja has taken time to meet with the elected party delegates who carried the day at the ward and constituency level elections, and who will be the electorate in the county elections in various parts of the city in a bid to consolidate support.
The City boss met with the elected constituency delegates from Roysambu, Kasarani, Mathare, Ruaraka, Westlands, and Langata constituencies on Monday June 3 in various locations. During the meetings, Sakaja took time to congratulate the delegates on their victory during the constituency elections that were held on Friday, May 31 and also took time to engage them in laying plans on the way forward together.
Yesterday, Tuesday 4 th June, Sakaja had a date with the delegates from Makadara, Embakasi East, Dagoretti North na Kamukunji Constituencies.
Sakaja was elated that the delegates exuded confidence in his leadership and are expressed his excitement on their respective victories as well as his impending victory in the Friday polls.
“Hongera na Asanteni delegates wa Makadara, Embakasi East, Dagoretti North na Kamukunji Constituencies. Proud and grateful to you all for your undying support. Ni Kufinish Kumalo sasa,” Sakaja said after the meeting.
Sakaja took time took time listening to the ideas from the delegates and strategizing for the grand finale.
The Nairobi Governor has secured 240 delegates slots out of the available 340.
Sakaja has urged the UDA party delegates to unite and shun
tribal politics which he has maintained that it should not be allowed to divide the party members and the residents of Nairobi. “We need to create an environment for everyone to thrive regardless of their tribe.” Sakaja has maintained.
