Keproba Staff Want Acting CEO Floice Mukabana Barred From Assuming Full Leadership

Staff from the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) want Trade CS Moses Kuria and PS Trade Alfred Ombudo to intervene and have the acting CEO Floice Mukabana not to be made the substantive CEO.
The staff said they have made a memorandum to the KEPROBA Board not to consider Mukabana for the job citing integrity issues.
The position of KEPROBA CEO was advertised last month and insiders said Floice is working with the PS to coerce the Board to confirm her.
The Board refused to give the former CEO Wilfred Marube a second term.
“Stakeholders should be informed that the only work the acting CEO (Floice Mukabana) is doing is to travel. She is never in the office to carry out the KEPROBA Mandate,” a staff who requested anonymity said.
The staff asked the PS and the Trade CS Moses Kuria to cancel Mukabana’s travel clearances anytime they land on their desks.
“This is a total wastage of KEPROBA funds that can be used towards market access opportunities for the business community. For example, this week Ag. CEO is in Arusha and already there are 2 senior KEPROBA staff in Arusha” the staff who sought anonymity said.
The staff added that after Arusha, Floice Mukabana will leave for JAPAN with Austin Macheso, yet the Kenya Embassy in Japan can competently represent KENYA in the preliminary EXPO meetings.
“Floice and Austin just want to go on a joyride and waste Government Funds. The President is currently cautioning against wastage of public service funds. The Management of EXPO JAPAN should be transferred to the Ministry under office of PS-Trade for better service to Kenyans and the trade sector,” the staff said.
The staff said Trade CS Moses Kuria should reject these unnecessary frequent travel clearance requests from KEPROBA.
“There is no impact achieved, to the business community, from these frequent external trips,” the staff said.
The staff lauded CS Moses Kuria whom they said recently denied Floice a trip to Congo-Kinshasa.
“We are aware the PS Alfred Ombudo wants Floice to take the position. This should not happen because of integrity issues,” the staff said.
