The education commitee met teachers and teacher service commission officials today to discuss the supplementary estimates for the educational year 2023/2024.

Basic education principal secretary Belio Kipsang said that there is a huge budget allocated to the education sector this year and these funds must be utilized well.

The committee insisted that it was going to invest in quality assurance because CBC needs alot of teacher support and classroom observation.

The total budget allocated to the ministry of education this year is 1.89 billion to build facilities in junior secondary and senior secondary schools.

A total of 42 billion was allocated to junior secondary and senior secondary schools each being allocated 400 million each in the 2023/2024 financial year.
