Kenya security agents on Wednesday killed over twenty one suspected Al Shabaab terrorists and recovered a huge cache of weapons in a thwarted terror attack within Mandera.

The suspected Al Shabaab terrorists had tried to ambush the officials on patrol in Ogorwen Location within Mandera County.

During the ensuing fierce gun battle between the Kenyan security officers on patrol and the terrorists, 21 Al Shabaab fighters were killed and six security officers injured.

Police also recovered among the assorted cache of weapons; guns and mortars from the scene.

The killed terrorists are suspected to be part of the Al Shabaab attackers that have been conducting terror attacks within Mandera and adjacent areas along the common border with Somalia.
