This special event marks the launch of CGIAR’s 2025–2030 Research Portfolio.
By Baboloki Semele: From April 7-12, 2025, global leaders in agricultural research, policy, and development will convene for the inaugural CGIAR Science Week. Hosted in partnership with the Kenyan Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), this groundbreaking event will set the stage for collaborative solutions aimed at achieving food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agricultural practices. With the world facing escalating climate threats, social inequalities, and declining biodiversity, CGIAR Science Week will serve as a catalyst for innovation-driven policies and investments. Scientists, policymakers, and development experts will engage in discussions on how science and technology can transform food systems while addressing pressing issues such as rural poverty and malnutrition.
The highlight of the event will be the official launch of CGIAR’s 2025-2030 Science and Innovation Portfolio—a strategic framework that aims to enhance agricultural productivity, improve nutrition outcomes, and strengthen climate adaptation efforts across the globe.
