PASC Langa, Obunga FC set up Safaricom Chapa Dimba final duel

Nyanza region’s home side Obunga FC overpowered Coast Region representatives Bandari Youth with a 2-0 victory in the 4th edition of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba semi-finals held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Jomo Kenyatta (Mamboleo) Stadium to book their place in the National Finals set to be played on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

The home team will be up against Rift Valley regional champions PASC Langa in a tantalizing final that will be played at the same venue as the Nyakach side hopes to capitalize on their home advantage to lift the title.

PASC Langa secured their spot in the finals after sealing a commanding 4-0 victory over Western’s Ebwali FC in the first semi final of the day.

En-route to the national finals, Obunga FC has along the way made clear intentions of lifting the title recording by remarkable victories, including a resounding 4-0 triumph over Nyaguku FC from Nyamira and a historic first-time qualification for the national finals after a thrilling 2-1 victory against Awendo Academy in the regional final.

PASC Langa on the other hand clinched the Rift Valley regional title after defeating the former Rift Valley defending champions, Laiser Hill Academy from Kajiado County with a hard-fought 2-1 scoreline at ASK Showground Nakuru.

In the Girls National Finals, Nyanza region representatives Plateau Queens will face Barcelona Ladies SC representing Central region after the two sides won their respective semi final matches yesterday.

Plateau Queens overpowered Western region’s Brenda Girls with a resounding 5-1 victory to set their final date with Barcelona Ladies SC who had earlier staged a comeback from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Rift Valley’s Wiyeta Girls in a fiercely contested semi final match.

The winning teams in the national finals will walk away with Ksh. 1 million in cash, while the runners-up and second runners-up will receive Ksh. 500,000 and Ksh. 250,000, respectively.

Additionally, each player, both winners, runners-up, and second runners-up, will receive Neon Smartphones, the first locally assembled 4G smartphone in Kenya.

Outstanding players, including the Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, and Most Valuable Player (boys and girls), will also each get Kshs 50,000.
