In his acceptance speech, Ouma said; “My fellow residents of Kariobangi North Ward, the great members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, supporters, friends. I stand before you today, humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude, to accept the mandate you have bestowed upon me to be the ODM candidate for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in the upcoming by-election. The spirit of democracy has triumphed today. The people have spoken, and the voice of Kariobangi North has resonated clearly within our party. I want to sincerely thank the leadership of the ODM Party for upholding the principles of democracy and delivering a primary election that was transparent, free, and fair. This commitment to internal democracy is what makes our party a beacon of hope for this nation. To my worthy opponents, Hon. Chrispin Ochieng Wandera and Hon. Martin Paul Ochieng, I offer my deepest respect and admiration.” Ouma Said.
“Your campaigns were spirited, your commitment to Kariobangi North is undeniable, and your participation elevated the quality of this contest. You are true patriots and dedicated members of the ODM family. The primary is now behind us. We fought a good race, but the ultimate goal remains the same: to deliver the Kariobangi North MCA seat to the Orange Democratic Movement on November 27th, 2025. I, therefore, extend an open and heartfelt request to both Chrispin and Martin: let us now consolidate our forces. Let us put aside the internal competition and work hand-in-hand to ensure a resounding victory for ODM in the by-election. Your experience, your networks, and your passion are invaluable, and we need to march forward as one united team. To the great people of Kariobangi North, thank you. Your vote today was not just for me, but for a vision of a more accountable, progressive, and prosperous ward,” Ouma concluded.
The celebration will not last as Ouma now heads into the campaign trail against other parties ahead of the by elections slated for 27th November, 2025 when the new Kariobangi North MCA will be elected. The seat fell vacant following the sudden death of former MCA Joel Munuve.
