Veteran sports administrator Michael Ouma to contest in Kariobangi North MCA by electionVeteran sports administrator and former Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee member Michael Ouma Majua has thrown his hat in the ring for the vacant Kariobangi North ward Member of the Nairobi City County Assembly seat in the upcoming by-election.

Ouma, popularly known as “Chair” , has declared his interest to vie for the Kariobangi North ward MCA seat in the by-elections set to be 27th November, 2025.

The seat fell vacant following the sudden death of former MCA Joel Munuve.

Ouma, a veteran sports administrator who has been in sports leadership for over 20 years is known for leading the growth of the sports industry, particularly football in the country, during his stints at FKF where he rose from the position of branch vice chairman to the chairman of FKF Nairobi branch before serving as the National Executive Committee member for Nairobi.

He is credited with helping the rise of many grassroots football teams among them Kariobangi Sharks which went from playing at the grassroots to the lower tier leagues and eventually broke the glass sealing to play at the top level in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Ouma is a former Kariobangi North MCA hacing been voted in on an ODM ticket in a by-election that occured in 2010 and is vividly remembered for initiating development projects in the area as well as youth empowerment through his passion for sports.
