Nairobi United FC have today been coronated as the National Super League 2024/2025 champions.
Popularly known by their Nickname Naibois, Nairobi United, which is sponsored by the Sakaja Johnson Foundation, lifted the trophy as the country’s second tier league came to the season final match day.
Nairobi United were crowned the 2024/25 National Super League champions despite a 0-3 loss to Naivas FC in their final match of the season played at Dandora Stadium lifting the glittering trophy.
Following the team’s triumph, where they secured an unassailable lead in the league winning the title with three matches left before the coronation day, Naibois has a earned an automatic promotion to the top tier Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
Nairobi United head coach Nicholas Muyoti praised the resilience of the team during the season expressing his joy at the win and promotion to the Premier league.
The team, under the tutelage of former Harambee Stars international Nicholas Muyoti, have put together an impressive campaign and are looking at chance to play continental football. Nairobi United are slated to play the final if the Mozzartbet cup against Gor Mahia, and the winner of the cup will represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation cup, CAF’s second largest continental club competition.
The club, originally founded in 2015 as Balaji EPZ FC, was renamed Nairobi United FC in 2022. A major turning point came in September 2024 when Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, through the Sakaja Foundation, acquired the team and promised to invest in youth development, infrastructure, and recruitment.
