Accused of killing wife’s lover, Khalwale cannot lecture Sakaja over goons chaos

The recent public outburst by Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale lecturing Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is not only unfounded but hypocritical and lacking of substance but his mere rhetoric.

Khalwale appeared at a funeral in Ikolomani, Kakamega county where the Senator accused Governor Sakaja of involvement in the planning of violence that rocked Nairobi last week.

Whereas Khalwale has no basis for his accusations on the Governor, he went on to rely on information from poorly coordinated goons who, on the command of two Nairobi politicians, they have already been identified as the ones who organized goons to attack Gen Z protesters and pretend to be working at the behest of Sakaja- a poor and pedestrian way of operations in high stakes political smear game.

Khalwale has no moral authority to lecture Sakaja. For starters, Khalwale is the same one who was all over literally throwing stones and leading goons to wreck havoc in Kibra during a by election in 2018 after the death of former Kibra MP Ken Okoth an election that was won by the current MP Mwalimu Peter Orero. During the by election, Chief goon and stone thrower himself Dr. Bonny Khalwale was supporting the UDA candidate Macdonald Mariga who lost the election.

By insinuating that Sakaja planned the chaos is not only unfounded but pedestrian. There is no way that a seasoned politician plan for chaos and the goons sent go out publicly shouting his name to sell him out; that is already a direct pointer that these is a smear game at play.

Senator Khalwale took a swipe at Sakaja saying that he used the luhya community as goons arming them with crude weapons to perpetrate crime instead of giving them jobs. This statement is not only unfortunate but a uncalled for and an a front to the constitution.

Governor Sakaja is the governor of Nairobi and does not offer service and leadership to a particular tribe or group of people but is the governor for all people of Nairobi. For Khalwale to say that since Sakaja’s mother hailed from Kakamega and his father outside the western region, then Sakaja should be expelled from his mother’s community for not giving them jobs is the most shameful statement seeking to cause ethnic divisions.

A man known for hooliganism with his famed bull fighting competition, Khalwale was accused of causing the death of one of his bull fighting handlers who was killed by one of Khalwale’s bull. There were accusations that Khalwale intentionally put the noose on the man to his death by the bull following claims that the man was rumoured to be having an extra marital relationship with one of the numerous wives of Senator Khalwale.

For a man who prides himself of poligamy and tribal mobilization, he has no tangible development track record neither does he have any known professional achievement even with his qualifications as a veterinarian doctor. All his success has always come from his alignment with his tribe rather than service delivery yet he has the audacity to lecture the governor of the Kenyan capital city.

Khalwale must be reminded that not all leaders thrive in hiding behind their tribes and using goons and militias to suppress opponents. He must remember that Sakaja has established himself as a leader for all residents of Nairobi who knows no tribe but unity in the pursuit of a better future for the city and the generations to come, the Gen Z’s are an important population of Nairobi who are tribeless and Khalwale cannot be allowed to go to funerals in Western to propagate succulents of tribal bigotry in the capital.
